2015 was an amazing year of great growth and change for us here at TEW! We added a number of new members to our family, both producers and in-house, and we wrote about a great many of our friends and supporters here in NYC. We thank you for an amazing year, as we look forward to sharing another vintage of peace, prosperity and great wine in 2016.

In 2015, we featured buyers, chefs and somms to our blog, including Francesco Grosso of Marea, Pam Yung & José Ramirez-Ruiz of Semilla in Brooklyn, Lee Campbell of Andrew Tarlow‘s group, Sean Sant Amour of Blue Ribbon, Bill Fitch of Vinegar Hill House. Each personal story offering a glimpse behind the scenes from some of New York’s finest dining establishments. We also sat with Greg Doroski, the Head Brewer at Threes Brewing in Brooklyn, and with Meghan Boledovich, the House Forager (yes, you read that right…) at Print.

Wahaka Mezcal & High Wire Distilling

Our Spirits Portfolio saw a number of new craft distillers, including Wahaka Mezcal from Oaxaca, and High Wire Distilling from Charleston, South Carolina, where Scott Blackwell and Anne Marshall work with alternative grains to produce Sorghum Whiskey and Four Grain Bourbon. We also spoke to Mike Swanson and Cherri Reese of Far North Spirits, about their farm-to-glass spirits crafted from non-GMO grains.

There were new vintners from Burgundy including biodynamic estates Domaine Heitz-Lochardet and Chateau de Lavernette (Beaujolais), Domaine Arnoux Pere et Fils, Domaine Amiot-Servelle and Andre Tremblay Chablis. As well as time spent with dear friends who have been with us since the beginning of TEW, 21-years ago: Robert Sinskey (and a 10-year vertical of Abraxas!) and Domaine Roger Perrin.

We welcomed Pfluger an organic/biodynamic estate from Germany, David Carlone from Boca in Piedmonte, and Elena Fucci who farms old vines in Aglianico del Vulture DOC.

Iría Otero of Dominio do Bebei, Manuel Mendez of Do Ferreiro, Brendan Tracey & Andrea Calek

Some great folks came to visit, including but certainly not limited to Iría Otero of Dominio do Bibei, Manuel Mendez of Do Ferreiro, Brendan Tracey and Andrea Calek. And since we’ve named 2016 as the year without winemakers’ visits, we look forward to seeing everyone converge for one great tasting on May 17, 2016.

So save-the-date and stay tuned! We’ve got lots of great things in store. We wish you and yours a beautiful Happy & Healthy New Year! We’ll see you in 2016.
