About Us
T. Edward New York
Improve Your Consumption
The T. Edward story starts in 1994 with a portfolio that consisted of a cluster of vintners who had become close friends. With these 8-12 producers that included Robert Zinsky, ZD Wines, Serge Laloue, Marc Pichon and Roger Perrin, we hosted tastings at Blue Ribbon on Mondays, the only day when the restaurant on Sullivan Street was closed. With wines on the tables, we listened to Grateful Dead bootlegs, talked and tasted, and caught up on each other’s lives. From the beginning, there was a genuine interest in people, and that’s what drew them to us. And it was this same desire for mutual understanding, curiosity, and support that shaped the development and cultivation of our current portfolio at T. Edward Wines.
There are a lot of great wines in the world, but for us, it is imperative that our relationships with our producers rest level with their wines. Today, we include in our portfolio, Billecart-Salmon, JJ Prum, Tenuta di Trinoro, Domaine de la Vieille Julienne, V29, Corra, and Domus. Our representation of organic and biodynamic producers remains at our core, including up and coming vigneron: Antiyal from Chile, Romain Bouchard from Chablis, and Paul DeLancelotti from Oregon. And while we work directly and exclusively with producers, we are also happy to be working with Andre Tamers of De Maison Selections. Andre and TEB go back, long before the beginning of TEW, and so, when Andre returned after several years in the Penedes and Basque Country, singing the unsung praises of Txakoli, it was an organic transition for us to offer to distribute his wines. At TEW, we’re very committed to listening and to sharing our winemakers’ stories, as we import and distribute the products of their passions and vines.
Our headquarters is situated in downtown NYC, with warehouses and branch offices in key markets throughout the U.S. and southern France.
